Meet Our Team

Meet our Intake Coordinator, Jenn…

When someone reaches out for counselling they may be feeling quite vulnerable and nervous.  I understand this, and I will be respectful, supportive and sensitive with you.  I have worked with several counselling centres in the past 10 years, and I know how to gently guide you through the intake process.  I look forward to helping you connect with the counsellor who is just right for you, so that you can find the healing, growth and transformation you are seeking.

I truly believe that each one of us has the innate capability to strive and thrive through difficult times.

We will begin counselling by creating a trusting and safe relationship, and I will walk alongside you during your healing journey. I aim to ensure that you feel heard, seen, understood, and accepted. I will offer guidance and support, while you take the lead, walk the path at your own pace, and figure out what you need.

I moved to Vancouver to pursue my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, after I realized the passion I had for the field while working in India for an Employee Assistance Program. I am fortunate to have two degrees – the first is a Master’s in Health Psychology from the University of Hyderabad, India and the second is a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Adler University, Vancouver, BC.

My general approach uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) combined with a trauma-centred framework. • Gabby Bath - Tapestry Counselling Centre Vancouver

    Meet Gabby Bath

    (She/Her)

By honouring ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, we can create meaningful connections with ourselves and others.

Having ancestry from the Mi'kmaq people of Newfoundland and the English people of Bath, I use the teachings of the medicine wheel as a foundation for both my personal and professional life.

I strongly believe that making art can be a practice that supports physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. When we make art, we can experience our stories and our struggles in a fresh, new way. This can open the door for creating deeper connections in ourselves, with our bodies, with those around us and in our communities. My mission is to guide people in honouring their stories and reclaiming their connections in order to live more whole and meaningful lives.

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and Art Therapy from Adler University in Vancouver. I’m registered with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors and I’m a professional member of the B.C. Art Therapy Association. I’ve recently completed a two-year training program in Focusing-Oriented Therapy, a body-centred modality where people are invited to notice what they are sensing in their bodies rather than what they are thinking in their brains. I’ve seen how turning our attention towards our physical experience can create space for curiosity and compassion to sprout and grow.

I specialize in working with teenagers and adults who experience struggles related to trauma, neurodiversity and identity exploration. As a First Nations counsellor, I’m especially passionate about working with other Indigenous people. I have had the honour to work with various Indigenous communities in the Lower Mainland such as the Kwantlen Nation.

I empower you, draw on your strengths and support you on your journey.

    (She/Her)

I believe therapy can give people the opportunity to discover, reclaim and cultivate their own unique strengths and resources, equipping them to navigate through life’s challenges.

My priority is to create a safe, non-judgmental space, where you feel you can explore the unknown within the comfort of a supportive relationship. Whether you are on a healing journey, building your tools and coping skills, exploring emotions, or processing trauma, we can work together using a variety of counselling modalities.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC), and I work within an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens. My orientation is Strengths-Based, Person-Centred and Mindfulness-Based and I consider a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for the counselling process. Together we will explore what type of support best meets your needs and goals and let that guide our process. Our work together might include exploring new ways to relate to and understand the past, examining patterns in your life, uncovering new perspectives and facets of yourself, moving towards nourishment in daily life or strengthening your ability to access inner resources.

In addition to more traditional talk therapy, you will also have the option to try Expressive Arts Therapy if it is something you are interested in. Expressive Arts Therapy explores content coming up in sessions by inviting the imagination and the senses into the process. Working in this experiential way can also provide a safe container for accessing difficult emotions or past traumas. No arts experience is required and simplicity is celebrated in this way of working.

I have been practicing for the last 9 years in a variety of settings including a not-for-profit agency in a child and youth sexual abuse program, an adult counselling program, in a First Nations community, and at elementary schools. I hold a Master’s degree in Expressive Arts Therapy and Psychology from the European Graduate School and a B.A. in Psychology.

Counselling is taking the time to honour your needs for wherever you are in your life, through challenges, change, and past experiences – and I am here to support you in the process. (She/Her)

At the core of my approach to counselling is the belief that every human being is unique and inherently valuable.

Counselling is like a journey and I am simply a fellow traveller - I will walk beside you for a time, giving you genuine acceptance, respect, and support. I believe you will naturally grow in positive ways when you are affirmed and supported.

In counselling, you will be invited to explore your situation in a way that reveals your core values and innate strengths, and ultimately what is truly meaningful to you in life. We will work collaboratively, and tailor the process of counselling to your particular needs and goals, and together we will find ways to bring healing and transformation to your life.

I am committed to building a counselling centre and a team that offers support and healing to all those who reach out.

As a counsellor, I believe change, growth and healing are possible and that people are naturally wired for such progress. They have profoundly impacted how you see yourself, how you see the world and how you function in your life today.

While I am not taking any more new clients into my schedule, I facilitate the Tapestry Team to further the healing, recovery and supportive work being done here. My expectations are that you will be heard by every person you connect with here at Tapestry, and that you will be treated with dignity and respect.
